Register to Vote!

Please follow the steps below to register to vote in Iowa:

1. Find out if you are currently registered to vote in Iowa by going here: Am I Registered to Vote in Iowa?

2. If you are NOT currently registered to vote in Iowa, please go here for information on registering: Register to Vote

3. If you ARE currently registered to vote in Iowa, please be aware that you can vote in one of three different ways:

  • In person on Election Day Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.  Please be aware that you will need to bring a government-issued photo ID in order to vote.  Go here to find your polling place if you are voting in person on Election Day: Find Your Precinct/Polling Place

 

  • Absentee ballot by mail.  In this method you would request an absentee ballot from your county auditor and you would receive the absentee ballot in the mail.  You would then fill out the absentee ballot and either mail it back to the county auditor or drop it off at the county auditor's office.  Please go here for more information: Absentee Voting by Mail

 

  • Absentee ballot in person.  In this method you would go to your county auditor's office in person and fill out an absentee ballot request form and then fill out the absentee ballot at the office.  The dates and hours where you can do this are listed HERE Please go here for more information: Absentee Voting in Person

Please note that there is another form of absentee voting in person that involves going to a satellite voting location instead of to your county auditor's office.
